Amorgos island is one of the most atmospheric and attractive places in Greece. It is arranged on the East of the Cyclades islands. The island is famous with the young nature of its mountains. It has wonderful attractions and a wealth of history.
Amorgos was a former center of the Cyclades civilizations. It was known as a place producing expensive linen chitons. They were called “amorgid” and were traditional Greek clothes. A lot of archaeological findings confirm a rich history of the island. Its identity and charm are preserved until nowadays. A reason is a long distance from the main touristic roads. Due to that Amorgos resembles Mekka for tourists loving quiet holiday.
Wonderful landscapes of the Greek island resort attracted the attention of a legendary film director, Luc Besson. It was here, the fantastically picturesque natural scenery of Amorgos, where the cult movie “The Big Blue” was shot. While watching an attentive spectator can see the main attractions. They are St.Anna Church, the Monastery of Hozoviotissa and unique beautiful sea views.
In original atmosphere of this small island there is a peaceful mood. And you can clearly feel the spirit of times. People come here to enjoy crystal clear air, amazing landscapes and traditional Greek hospitality. Amazing rocky sceneries, cozy bays and clear beaches, unique antiquities… Amorgos generously shares its treasures with everybody including loving couples. They come here to spend one of the most important days in the life. And one of them is a wonderful couple, Louren and Leonidas. They came here from the USA.

Love story in Greek spirit.
Flying from Athens to Los Angeles, Leonidas didn’t even suspect that it was here where he would meet his fate. She was in the appearance of a beautiful young girl named Lauren. In such a romantic spirit, a wonderful love story began. And a logical follow-up was on one of the most beautiful islands of the Greek archipelago.
There is a reason why they came up with the idea of a wedding in Amorgos. In this isolated place there is an incredible atmosphere. It is imbued with a spirit of Greek traditions. Any loving couple can easily find a cozy nook here. And nobody will disturb to say the most important words in their life. Here you can hide from the noise and bustle of big cities. Just enjoy the simplest things. And, of course, Amorgos offers unlimited options for a romantic wedding ceremony in any, the most original style.
A day before the main event, the guys decided to learn more about this beautiful island. They wanted to leave the memory as bright shots of a pre-wedding photo session.
The pre-wedding photo shoot in Amorgos turned into an entertaining tour. Leonidas proudly showed her bride the patriarchal beauty of his homeland. Cozy streets and snow-white houses, modest churches, picturesque mountain trails, flowering groves, magnificent sunsets… The amazing atmosphere of a small Greek island touched the Lauren’s heart. And her fresh feelings were easily woven into the emotional outline of the pre-wedding photography.
To get beautiful pictures, we tried to choose locations where the newlyweds would look as natural and easy as possible. The pre-wedding photo session in Amorgos was made in the style of a romantic walk around the island. And, step by step, the loving couple could open the natural beauty. That shoot was full of sincere joy and happiness. And, I, being a professional photographer, captured all those moments with a great pleasure.
Wedding in Amorgos island
The wedding in Amorgos became a significant period of Louren and Leonidas’ life. For me, a professional wedding photographer, it was interesting to watch these wonderful young people. They were so sincerely discovering new feelings and impressions. The ceremony was decorated in a classic style. And it took place in a modest chapel of St.Anna Church on a rocky cliff. The audience had stunning views of the sea from there. Happy newlyweds literally sparkled with emotions. They shared their mood with all the guests at the wedding.
After the official part the newlyweds went for a walk around Amorgos. And during that I managed to shot a number of bright atmospheric pictures for their wedding book. A peculiarity of this amazing shoot is exuberant joyful mood. I could pick up the shadows of tenderness and consuming love for each other. The end of the wedding photo session in Amorgos was a banquette shooting where there were all closest people and friends of the newlyweds.
